Mis Maestros!!

While I was in the wonderful bubble within the bubble Aka- the MTC. Hermana Downs and I had the most AMAZING teachers. Hermano Cave and Hermano Nunez. They were spiritual GIANTS and so great. I LOVED the MTC. honestly, and I am pretty sure I had the best maestros there. There was a rumor that Hermano Nunez was one of the third nephite and Hermano Cave had been off his mission for like 2 weeks so still had the FIRE of the mission-

Here are some of the inside joke/one-liners that kept us going in the MTC: (sorry if they arent funny or you dont get them... just know- they were hilarious.)

-You mean we're going to be like... teaching people?! - Elder Jashinsky

-Hey book on tape, we are praying now. - me to one elder who was reading BOM out loud

-If you werent a Hermana I would totally stick my finger up your nose. - Elder Fox to Me

Como se dice joint en espanol? (how do you say joint-as in body joint- in spanish?) - Hno Nunez. "Marajuana." - Elder Stephens

-Elders y Hermanas I bought a van on my mission. - Hno Nunez

-The Book of Mormon is your horning bazooka. - Hno Cave

-Yo tengo esperanza para ver jesucristo boca a boca. - Hna Downs

(I have hope to see Jesus Christ mouth to mouth- she meant to say cara a cara or face to face_

ahhh... I swear we actually learned in there too... ha.

Blast from the past! So young...

So anywho- now a year and a half later- Hermana Downs and I are home. Que Lastima. But other other day we were able to go hang out with the Teachers we held so much respect for and give them the long overdue hug that before was forbidden. Hermana Downs and I were SO NERVOUS. I mean, these were the men that taught us our spanish- and we knew they would be grading how well we did... AHHH... But it was really SO SO much fun.

While we were eating there was a hispanic couple sitting behind us- well.... 4 spanish speaking RMs got to talking to them and we found out- They werent members.... ah, I smiled to myself thinking "oh they just walked into a lions den..." 2- 3 week old RMs and 2- MTC teachers... They didnt have a chance. and needless to say- They walked away with a passalong card, one of their business cards, and a date to be baptized (just kidding- on baptism... ) HA!!! LOOVVVEEE ITTT....

So yes, I loved the MTC. I think the name should be changed to Member Training Center. Because I think every member should go there for a week. I learned so much about the gospel and about myself in those short 8 weeks. The food... kinda got old but, the strong spirit never did. :)
